About

jlhI’m an assistant professor at Pratt Institute School of Information and Library Science (SILS) and the LMS Program Coordinator (school librarians). I teach courses on teaching and learning in libraries, whether and how to use technology for instruction, and educational foundations. My research interests include the nexus of youth culture and technology, informal literacy practices, discourses of teaching and teachers, and feminist theory and practice. Other passions include Antigone, SPF 15+,  contemporary fiction, briny foods, and cheeses of all kinds. I proudly hail from St. Louis, MO. I live in Brooklyn, NY with my partner Alex and daughter, MB.
